CaddieLab Golf ("CaddieLab," "Company," "we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the CaddieLab Golf mobile application ("App") and related services (collectively, the "Service"). By using the Service, you consent to the data practices described in this policy.
Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. If you do not agree with the terms of this Privacy Policy, please do not use the Service.
We collect information in several ways depending on how you interact with the Service.

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
This section explains how we keep and use the swing and putting videos you record or upload, and the data measured from them. Please read it carefully.
When you record, upload, or analyze a swing or putting video, we use it to produce your analysis. We also keep your swing and putting videos and your swing data, and use them to develop, train, test, evaluate, and improve CaddieLab's analysis, AI and machine-learning models, features, products, and services — including the actual video footage, not only anonymized or aggregated data. "Swing data" means what our analysis produces and records about a swing or putt: body, club, and ball positions and movement, measurements, scores and grades, the key moments of the swing, launch monitor readings paired with it, and the club, camera, and device details recorded with it.

This is on by default. By creating an account, or by agreeing to our Terms of Service in the App, you agree to this use. You can turn it off at any time in the App under Settings › Help Improve CaddieLab, or by emailing support@caddielabgolf.com with "Privacy request" in the subject line. Turning it off does not change how the App works for you.
What turning it off does. From the time you turn it off, we stop uploading new videos for this purpose and stop using your videos and swing data to develop, train, test, or review our analysis. Turning it off does not delete anything — to delete videos, lab reports, or your account, see Section 6. It also does not affect models, features, measurements, benchmarks, or de-identified or aggregated data created before you turned it off; we keep those and may continue to use them, because content already used to train a model cannot be individually removed from it. If you turn it back on, we may again use the videos and swing data we hold, including anything recorded while it was off.
Where practical, we separate videos used to develop our analysis from your name and account details. We do not use your videos or swing data for facial recognition or to create a biometric identifier used to identify you.
We do not sell your videos or swing data, and we do not use them for advertising or to build advertising profiles.
Service providers that process videos for us (Section 3.2) do so on our behalf. Content we send to Google's Gemini API is handled under the API terms that apply to our account, which do not permit Google to use it to train Google's own models.
This is off unless you turn it on, in the App under Settings › Watch Motion Capture. Nothing described in this section is recorded while it is off.
When it is on, and you are playing a round in Shot Tracker Pro mode with an Apple Watch, the App records how your wrist moves — accelerometer and gyroscope readings, meaning acceleration and rotation — for the duration of the round, together with your position on the course. The moments you tell us you hit a shot are marked within the recording. No audio and no video is recorded, ever. Nothing is recorded outside an active round, and nothing is recorded unless you have switched this on.
We retain these recordings and use them to develop, train, test and improve automatic shot detection — so that your watch can eventually recognise shots without you tapping after each one. Recording the whole round rather than only the seconds around each shot is deliberate and necessary: teaching a system to recognise a golf shot requires showing it a great deal of ordinary activity that is not a golf shot. A subset may be reviewed by our team or by trusted contractors bound by confidentiality obligations, in order to label the data and check quality.
Your choice. You may switch this off at any time in the App. Nothing further is recorded from that point, and switching it off does not affect any other feature. To request deletion of recordings already collected, email support@caddielabgolf.com. Recordings already incorporated into a trained model cannot be individually removed from that model, but we will not use them for new training.
We do not sell these recordings, and we do not use them for advertising or to build advertising profiles.
Lab mode films your swings from two phones at once and builds a detailed lab report.

Your data is stored on servers operated by Supabase, which uses industry-standard cloud infrastructure. Data may be stored and processed in the United States or other countries where our service providers maintain facilities.

While we strive to protect your information, no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your data.
Section 5We retain your data for as long as your account is active, as needed to provide you the Service, and as described in Section 2.5 for improving it. This includes your golf performance history, swing and putting videos, swing data, lab reports, and all associated analytics.
CaddieLab is not a backup service. We may delete videos and other content, including lab videos, at any time — for example, when they are no longer needed or to manage storage — so keep your own copy of anything you want to keep.
When you delete your account through the App settings:
We may retain certain information as required by law, to resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, or for other legitimate business purposes.
Section 6Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:
You can access most of your data directly within the App (profile, scores, statistics, swing analyses). You may request a copy of your personal data by contacting us at support@caddielabgolf.com.
You can update your profile information, scores, and other data directly within the App at any time.
You can delete your account at any time through the App settings (Settings > Delete Account). You may also request deletion by emailing support@caddielabgolf.com.
Deleting a video in the App removes it from your device. It does not remove a copy already uploaded to our cloud storage under Section 2.5; to have a specific uploaded video deleted, email us with "Privacy request" in the subject line. Deleting your account removes all of them (Section 5.2).
As described in Section 2.5, we use your swing and putting videos and swing data to improve CaddieLab unless you turn this off. You can turn it off, or back on, at any time in the App under Settings › Help Improve CaddieLab, or by emailing support@caddielabgolf.com.
You can disable location services for the App through your device settings at any time. Note that disabling location will prevent GPS shot tracking, distance features, and Auto Track from functioning. Background location is used only during an active Auto Track round; you can also decline "Always" location and continue to use the App's other features.
Motion and step data is used only during Auto Track rounds to detect swings. You can disable motion/fitness access for the App through your device settings; doing so will disable automatic shot detection.
As described in Section 2.6, recording wrist movement around your tracked shots is optional and off by default. You can switch it on or off at any time in the App under Settings › Watch Motion Capture. To request deletion of recordings already collected, email support@caddielabgolf.com.
You can turn individual categories of notification on or off in the App under Settings → Notifications: Friends, Group Rounds, Tournaments, High-Fives & Comments, and Achievements & Badges. Turning a category off stops those notifications being created for you at all.
Replies from the CaddieLab team — an answer to feedback you sent, or confirmation of a course you asked us to add — are not switchable, because they respond to something you started. You can also disable notifications from CaddieLab entirely in your device's notification settings.
The App requests camera access to record swing and putting videos, and microphone access for recording video audio and for hands-free practice voice commands. You can revoke these permissions through your device settings at any time.
You can delete any lab report, together with its videos and PDF, from the report in the App, and you can turn a share link off at any time. Deleting your account deletes all of them (Section 5.2).
Section 7The Service is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 years of age. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.
Users between the ages of 13 and 18 may use the Service only with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian. Parents or guardians who believe their child has provided us with personal information without their consent should contact us at support@caddielabgolf.com.

Section 9The Service is operated from the United States. If you are accessing the Service from outside the United States, please be aware that your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate.
By using the Service, you consent to the transfer of your information to the United States and other jurisdictions that may not provide the same level of data protection as your home country. We will take reasonable steps to ensure your data is treated securely and in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
If you are located in the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland, we process your personal data on the following legal bases:
Subject to applicable law, you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing of your personal data, the right to data portability, and the right to withdraw consent. Where data is transferred out of the EEA/UK, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
